Driveway repairs
Hi
We have a 50 metre tarmacced driveway that is desperately in need of repair. Can anyone point me in the direction of a company or tradesman who would be able to do this job?
many thanks

You might indicate where. The P O is quite a big place to cart small amounts of tarmac around. That said, I have no idea wherever you are.peterg wrote:Hi

Hi Peter
I think you're looking for somebody who does 'goudronnages' or 'goudron' though somebody might correct me if there is a more technical term.
Might be worth looking that up in Les Pages Jaunes?
I know nothing about building or tarmaccing, but somebody did say a few years ago, possibly on this very forum, (I have the memory of a flea) that tarmac isn't recommended here because of climate.

My drive also needs to be redone so if you find anyone please let me know.
I think the traditional way is to look for someone resurfacing roads and ask if they have any left over. I was going to say 'hail a passing Irishman' but didn't want to be thought of as racist.
Whenever our road needs repairing, I badger a guy at the Communauté de Communes Salanque Méditerranée who are responsible for the roads in our area. They regularly use contractors who tarmac roads so they would probably know someone, send me a pm and I'll give you the email address.
Alternatively wait a week or so and I will ask them myself but I am away at present.

Apparently the client I previously mentioned had a flyer in his letterbox and promised to pass details, I went to work there and he is on a motorcycle jolly in montpellier, I will contact him when he returns tomorow

It's strange. People initially come here seeking a recommendation from good past experience, and end up with an address from a flyer. You might be lucky, but I wouldn't bet on it. But perhaps that's just a hangover from my memory of the dodgy tarmac gangs that used to operate in the UK.opas wrote:Apparently the client I previously mentioned had a flyer in his letterbox and promised to pass details, I went to work there and he is on a motorcycle jolly in montpellier, I will contact him when he returns tomorow
