I currently operate a real ale brewery in Scotland, producing 1200 lts per week with a small visitor centre included.

I recently had an english grain merchant who operates in France visiting and he indicated that there is a huge demand for this in the north of France with some three hundred micros in production.This set me wondering if in the South there is any such production,or even a demand for same.

I very much fancy such a challenge and as I have a lifelong deep love affair with all things french, several fantasies may be fulfilled at the one time. I travel to Carcassonne in October for a holiday and any tips, pointers etc would be gratefully received from your readership.

I'm sure there would no shortage of volunteers to test the product prior to launching.

As your local man on the Scottish spot, I will happily accept a commission to carry out an extensive survey of the beers in question on behalf of my exiled friends in the PO. The beers will then be categorised by 3 suitably Scottish gradings: 1) Pure Effing Magic: 2) Nae Bad; and 3) Pish.

I don't know what the beers are called other than the one called Braveheart but by good chance, top of my shopping list is beer so I will look out for this one and any others. I think I have tasted Braveheart but my memory being what it is, I will simply have to try it again in the interests of accurate research

Is Braveheart "heavy" ?

I've recently discovered a microbrewery in Bouletenere, who's beers I'm selling at the winery. Much better than Cap d'Ona and probably more interested in sourcing British grain and hops. It is called Alzina. If you get chance to call in I can give you more info.

However, those are the only 2 I know of in the PO.
