Travelling to P-O with cat
Hi. I seek advice on getting a cat from UK (Midlands) with cat.
Please Exclude advice on vaccinations and passports. We and our vet will deal with whatever piece of guesswork applies when we do it, if !
I mean the real practicalities Car/Train/Plane /Post ?
CAR:
She is happy in short journeys in the car when free to sniff and look, but 3 days (2 overnight stops?). All possible but advice on cat cage/transporter and friendly hotels on the route would be welcome.
TRAIN:
Apparently it is free but all trains to Perpignan from the North now seem to change in Paris. The old change at Lille was good.
I know that they are not allowed on Eurostar so I am looking for easy route from anywhere within 1 hr of coast.
PLANE:
I cannot find a significant air carrier from UK to P-O though may consider Barcelona if necessary.
Thanks in advance.
John

Hi,
For solid advice on humane transportation of animals to and from the UK, talk to an expert. Penelope Perkins, a friend and passionate animal lover, deals with this while issue everyday with rescue animals and her fantastic transporter guy may be returning back to the continent at the same time as you are planning. They are in the north of Spain but drive everywhere with their rescue animal service.

Info about trains and boats is here
https://www.seat61.com/dogs-by-train.htm
Despite the title, it covers cats as well. Some of it seems pretty laborious, but Seat61 is the gold standard for griff like this in my experience.

My apologies: I hadn’t picked up that you are ready to do the trip by car (your post was a bit garbled in places). If so, it seems like the option of choice by a street. I don’t think that anything it might suffer would be worse than character-forming: but then I’m a hard-faced bastard.martyn94 wrote: ↑Sat 11 May 2019 18:20 Info about trains and boats is here
