Café de France, Céret

Post by Kate »

Went there for dinner last night and was very impressed. They now have a room upstairs which they have turned into a pleasant dining room for winter (not open yet but will be as soon as the weather turns)

The menu is simple, not much choice (one set menu at 17€ for three courses) and the carte doesn't offer much choice that isnt already on the set menu, but the quality and taste were excellent, with attentive service. The bill for four of us for three courses each, (two menus and two a la carte) with two half carafes of wine and three specialist beers was less than 90€. Excellent steak in Banyuls sauce, totally boneless Dorade for bone-o-phobes like my Dad, both on the menu. qnd duck from the carte pronounced by very fussy french husband as being 'cuit a la perfection'
