There's a mole loose aboot this hoose
I know it doesn't really work at all (there's a mole goal aboat this hole??) but we have a mole in the garden and it's digging all the grass up. Anybody any ideas how to get rid? Hate the idea of killing it - is there any way to persuade it to go away?

You could try this:

Seriously, I know of no way of getting rid of them without killing them. They sell some (safe) explosive devices for the purpose in many bricolage stores as well as special poisons. The spring traps are almost useless.

Hope you enjoy it, Thumbers.

Just returned from some time away warming myself, to see this "mole" question.
The remedy that a Norfolk farmer told me was to take a wide topped deepish bottle (in practice,a wine one will work),dig a hole in the mole infested ground, and bury said wine bottle with just about 3 cm of the top poking out above the surface. Then hope for some windy days (hardly unknown in this neck of the woods),and when the wind blows over the surface of the opening of the bottle it creates a whistling ,vibrating sound, which, evidently the moles hate,so they take their tunneling business elsewhere.
I know it sounds bizarre, but it has worked for me on several occasions both here and in E Anglia.

Re: mole
Thanks Sue.Sue wrote:Welcome back John.
Another thing worth mentioning is that (and I don't know whether this is a coincidence or not),is that up to 2 yrs ago we were plagued by moles. Then we got two young, very hungry cats . The moles have been notable by their absence since then.
