English Speaking Cardiologist

Post by calipsoman »

I was wondering if someone could recommend a cardiologist preferably near Perpignan who specializes in Atrial Fibrillation? Of course they would need to be able to speak English. My medical French is very inadequate.

The "Médipôle at Cabestany is probably your most likely choice.
When we were in Le Soler, I was treated there at the cardiology centre - and very professionally, too, for high blood pressure!
Here is a list of doctors both on site there and associated - perhaps someone else knows if one of the cardiologists speaks English
as I have no idea myself - or one could ask at the reception.

In truth, I would imagine that you will find that all of the cardiologists speak pretty good English.

Good luck. :D

Good Luck as you say Thumbs. I have quite a few of the cardiologists and I haven't found one who speaks English.

Often though that the Cardiologist will continue in French if a person is capable in French too.

Probably one of the best places to find a good Cardiologist would be the Clinic St. Pierre. The best heart treatment is handled there.

I'd tend to agree with most of that,BD.

Yes,like Thumbs,I rather assumed that most clinical specialists round here would be pretty fluent in English, given that so much of the research, papers etc is done in America. But we too have not found it to be the case at all.

I suppose the best way is to ask the consultant's secretary first.

I have met one Cardiologist (who speaks English well) at the St.Pierre but I cannot remember his name. I'll ask my wife and I'll post his name again. He and his father are residents at Clinic St. Pierre.

The particular Cardiologist does handles the Atrial Fillibration. He gave me the information about this problem and also what can be used, ie, implantations.

I think that this doctor's name is Bingdamon or something similar.

More later. Blackduff

The cardiologist's name is closer to Benkemoun. My wife agrees that he speaks English. I'm not sure how easy to get an appointment with his office at the Clinic St. Pierre but my GP put him through to me.

We were directed to Dr Michaliski (sp) place Arago in perpignan and he also has a surgery at Medipole, by my boss. the only reason she sent us to him was that he has different equipment for children. He Is French but has an excellent command of English language. He also has a sense of humour!

There are two Benkemoun doctors. One is the father and he does the slicing and dicing. The son is the Cardiologist at St. Pierre. I met the son.
