Can I own and insure a car in France???
I own a house in PO but do not have a carte de sejour. I do not work in France. I spend about five months a year visiting PO.
Can I legally own, insure and drive a French registered vehicle. Also could I legitimately visit and drive my French car the U.K. for short periods.
I'd like to hear from anyone who has done this kind of thing.
Cheers Bob.

In a word, yes. We are far from alone in keeping a French registered car as "part-time" residents. My French (AXA) insurance covers me for all EU countries and, covers me for roadside rescue in the event of breakdown ( standard I think with French insurance but a definite bonus when I consider my RAC membership costs in the UK).
