Directives Anticipées
In April, I made an Advance Decision, also known as a living will or advance directive, under English Law. This sets out (amongst other things) what treatments I would refuse if I developed coronavirus. I used a template provided by a charity called “Compassion in Dying”:
https://coronavirus.compassionindying.o ... treatment/
Because there is no guarantee that this English form would be accepted in France. I asked a number of people while there recently, including a very senior Official, whether something similar was available under French Law. No-one could help so on returning home I carried out my own research on the internet.
Here is a very short article written by English Solicitors, Stone King, who have expertise in French Law confirming that it is indeed possible to make Advance Decisions in France called Directives Anticipées:

I now intend to make one myself using this “official template”:
https://www.service-public.fr/particuli ... its/R44952
However, I shall include some coronavirus specific wording based on the following:

It would be interesting to know if anyone has any relevant experience of Directives Anticipées

That's an interesting idea. I agree with your view on the choice. I just wonder whether those views clash with the Hippocratic oath and its modern legal interpretation.

Re: Directives Anticipées
Well, did you also anticipate your demise ??
If so, do you know what's going to happen when a foreigner dies in France ??
I see we can decide (in some degree at least) about hospitalisation etc.
What about the belongings (testament etc.) ??
May be I should have written it differently, but I would be interested in knowing what exactly will happen if/when a foreigner is found dead here in France
Do you know ??
