Garden compost bin
I have recently discovered the website jefaisducompost.com where you can order a wooden compost bin for a fiver (just click on contact and complete the details). It only applies to PO communities but I thought that was a steal. If anybody can recommend other places to get a good-value wooden compost bin, I would be grateful. I have recently come back to France and have a jungle as garden and there is a hayfield where the lawn used to be...

Nobody into composting?
Anyway to complete my story, we have picked up our composter, which cost a grand total of e5 - with a bill yet to come by mail. It is made of wood and was put together in 10min, slight "Ikea experience", but all went well. We also got a lidded plastic bin for the kitchen. And we are happily composting...

Thanks for the reminder. I used to compost at my place in 76, but found that I didnt generate enough waste, as a second-home owner, to keep it running hot enough to offset the sometimes brutally-cold weather. I guess it should work better down here: in any event I've ordered one.Sus wrote:Nobody into composting?

It is working really well for us and is small enough for lesser amounts. We mainly use it for the kitchen waste and I am also trialling a "compost tractor" for all the rest, which is essentially a free pile which we move along the garden and turn it at the same time. Whenever, we are turning, the chickens are already waiting to get their beaks into the bottom pile!martyn94 wrote:Thanks for the reminder.
