We have a PMB set-top box linked through to a dedicated Astra dish on the roof of our residence, I'm not sure of the dish size though.
What, if any, would be the symptoms of the change?
1 Loss of some channels?
2 Loss of all channels?
If we need to re-install the PMB set-top box, what is likely to happen?
If we lose U.K. television, how will we know;
a) If a larger dish will fix it? (easy to replace)
b) If we need to change the set-top box?
c) If we need to subscribe to Sky
The parable and PMB box were supplied and installed in Autumn 2008.

losss of some or all channels or picture breakup in bad weather / evenings will all be symptoms of reduced signal.
I am reasonably confident that if there are problems a larger Dish will sort the problem....
HOWEVER... this then brings problems of its own regarding the High Winds we suffer in the region. Depending on the Size that may be required will of course dictate where the DISHES can be attached.... For example.....i dont think hanging a 1.5 metre dish off a chimney would be an option around here.
maybe ground mounted or wall mounted dishes will be the safest options... but this is all speculation until we know what we will require.
See my website www.british-tv-in-france.co.uk for all news etc.
The UK FTA Channels eg BBC , ITV etc are NOT available from the wide beam Satellites with a Sky Subscription.

Hi Montgolfière.
Are we there yet? Are we there yet?
I have a five-year-old 60cm dish here in Taurinya and a Humax PVR.
I've been monitoring the BBC HD channel with what appeared to be test transmissions and test cards throughout the morning, with no reception problems at all.
I still have 100% Strength and 80-90% Quality on all the usual channels (Freesat only).
It remains to ask, is that it? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?
Dave

as will streaming services etc.
