Attestation de accueil

Post by hamyat »

Hi, we own a second home in the area and we are wondering whether we need to provide an attestation de accueil when our sons visit the house, and if we do need this document, how do we acquire one when we are in the UK? ( The house is only used by us and our sons and is never rented.)I know we can travel with ownership documents but I assume that as they are in our name they will be insufficient for our sons. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks

Because you are non-resident, you will not be able to obtain an AdA. You should provide your son with a letter confirming he is invited to use the house together with a copy of your passport and copies of documents proving your ownership and residence in the UK. I have been following this very closely over the last few months, as we are in a similar situation, and I don't believe there have been the problems we anticipated there might be. To be ultra cautious, your son should be able to demonstrate he has access to sufficient funds to cover his stay, a return ticket to the UK and travel insurance covering repatriation.

That's OK. If I come across anything new, I'll post an up date. We have 2 grown up children who use our second home in Port Vendres with their families so it is very relevant to us.
