Learning French - language school recommendations

Post by bijoux66 »

Hello,

Looking for French language lessons to advance beyond the tourist/beginner stage where I've been loitering for months ;-(

Any recommendations for schools located in either Perpignan or in the coastal towns south down to Banyuls?

Thank you.

I've heard good things about Alfmed in Perpignan.

Personally, I went to Eliane Morley in Le Boulou (advertises on this site) who I would definitely recommend as a good teacher, value for money and a good way of meeting other people in the area.

Because the only person who needs to know what I said is bijoux66, who asked the question. Why else have a pm system? I mentioned my pm on the forum to tell b66 to look at messages. If b66 had published an email address or phone number, I would have used that. Would that also be a secrecy issue for you? Too bad. Don't start anything, I'm not interested.

Exactly as Sue has stated above Jon. Why would you (or anyone else) be interested in Bijoux's French class arrangements?

There is an excellent language school in Ceret. I went there to learn Spanish from a French teacher.

If you really want to learn French, never go to a school where they will explain or talk to you in English. It works, I can assure you.

Also, chuck out the English telly stations if you have them and watch the news, the weather and French quiz and discussion programmes in French if you are serious about learning.

Total immersion is the best way. Others might disagree.

It also helps if you are given homework to go over the basic rules.

At the end of the day it's about your determination to learn.

They offer private lessons as well as group lessons.
