Just so you can all relax once more!
Percy finally arrived this morning exactly 14 days after leaving England.
A bit dirty and bedraggled but all in one piece, having toured Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Germany and France.
£11.75 is a jolly good price for a two week rail europe ticket, n'est-ce pas?

parcels please
having used Parcels Please a couple of times I told others how easy and cheap it was to send up to 30kilos for less than 12 euros so I was a bit sad to find the prices had doubled while I was away, still cheaper than a case on ryanair but 100% increase seems a bit steep.

Re: parcels please
Check it out again Macs just in case i got it wrong. If i got it right then the increase has only come about very recently maybe in the last 2 weeks.Macs wrote:having used Parcels Please a couple of times I told others how easy and cheap it was to send up to 30kilos for less than 12 euros so I was a bit sad to find the prices had doubled while I was away, still cheaper than a case on ryanair but 100% increase seems a bit steep.

Their website is still showing this :

I was quoted £18 + vat for a 25 kg boxDelivery to France for only £15+vat
Using the UPS Standard European Road delivery service, we are pleased to bring to you the fantastic price of £15 + vat for a 30kg parcel delivery to France. That’s from a collection address anywhere in Mainland UK and a delivery to anywhere in Mainland France. Average delivery transit times are 2 days.

I feel I must ajolopise.
I think it might be my fault.
You see, I only paid £10 plus vat and my little parcel travelled all over Scandinavia before going to Germany and Lyon and then finally, after two weeks of fun, arrived at our house near Perpignan.
That quinze jours of fun has to be paid for by someone!

Definitely my fault !
Er I think it may be us, on our last trip to UK we sent 8 boxes of around 30 kilos each at a cost of £93 !!!! We are in the hills in Cassagnes and they all arrived within 5 days safe and sound.
I am really sad that they have increased the price as it was a complete bargain.
I saw it had gone up to £15 but has someone said it is now more or is that £15 per load if booked online?

I see the Parcels Please site is today showing a price reduction from £15 down to £12.50. In fairness to them and to give them some credit my parcel was collected in Manchester on Tuesday and arrived here this morning, imo thats not bad at all when you consider that my last parcel from Manchester took 15 days and went on a tour of Europe courtesy of Fedex. My only gripe with Parcels please is that i paid a higher price the other day.

There is a blue button, but it takes you to the details page & you are unable to alter the collection country
