gas fitter
Hi
Anyone out there know a registered man/woman to put in a gas pipe? Moving the kitchen around and need to move the cooker which runs on bottle gas, therefore need the pipe moving.
Thanks
C

This seems to be a classic example of a totally useless thread. CarolineN asked for advice without giving any real idea of what she needed doing, or where. The P O is quite big, from end to end. Perpipal gave advice as helpfully as they could, I guess, but without giving any idea where their tradesman was coming from, or what his credentials were.
A bit of research shows that he works out of Thuir, and is an electrician by trade. It could be next door, or 100km away. No doubt he could do gas piping at a pinch: so could I, though your insurance company might not be happy if I made a balls of it. Maybe he also has the chit which makes it legal for him to work on gas, or maybe not.
You would do better to ask for advice from your boulanger(e) next time you buy a baguette. Or if you really think we are experts, say just what you want, and where you want it.

Of course the whole thing would have been simpler if CarolineN had filled in the location field on her profile.martyn94 wrote:This seems to be a classic example of a totally useless thread. I notice that very few people do this, I'm not really sure why?

The original question was asked over 3 years ago.
Hopefully CarolineN solved her gas problem and wasn't hanging on for an answer, but it does beg the question of how you found yourself commenting on the thread Martyn?
Maybe some spammer found it in order to post some spurious link - but got deleted, yet had the effect of making the question look current?

I have an aversion, for no obvious reason, to being autobiographical in a routine way: no "profile", no "avatar", no "sig" and certainly no mug-shot for all our sakes. But I do mention where I am, if it seems relevant to a particular post.Owens88 wrote:He He
Funny that it was a redundant thread.
However Martyn made a good point. It doesn't hurt to give some idea of 'where', surely?

If you're asking for advice which is going to depend on your location, it's not just that "it doesn't hurt", but that it's s a waste of all our time if you don't think to give it.
