Many thanks for the official confirmation that tax fonciere inflation is rampant in these parts. I've waited till I was able to check my records before replying to find that I would happily have settled for 51.27%. In 2004 the bill for our tiny appartment was 150 euros in 2009 it is 339 euros - I make that 126%. We went to Ceret tax office in 2006 when it went up 50% in one year to get an explanation but were just given the gallic shrug.
It would be nice to have an explanation though. Has there been any debate or response to this in the local press? It is impossible to discuss this with the locals as financial matters seem completely taboo in France.
