Trêve hivernale (winter truce)

Post by Nigel Bright »

I saw this article in the last Anglophone newsletter - "The annual ‘trêve hivernale’ (winter truce), which prevents landlords evicting tenants during the cold winter months, starts from the Ist November and ends in March".

Can anyone confirm which type of rental the "trêve hivernale" applies to:
furnished, unfurnished, holiday, etc????

Contractual full term permanent rentals of property.Furnished or Un furnished, rented under a French "Bail" contract.

Thanks for the info Rob. I was just checking that the new government had not changed anything lately.

It seems a pretty unfair law that allows a tenant to not bother to pay rent but still stay in a property for 5 months
