Hi Dulcie
This might help for the doctor. http://www.anglophone-direct.com/Choosing-your-doctor?

For the dentist, you just go to any (preferably on recommendation if you don't want too much pain!!)

Bonne courage!

No to pain ;-)

Hip replacement

An update for you on hip replacements following my previous query.

I have recently had my right hip replaced with a metal/ceramic total prosthesis by Dr Mouttet. The results were almost immediate. After 5 weeks I am walking unaided, although I use an ordinary walking stick outside for safety - walking 3 to 5 km a day for exercise. An absolutely brilliant result that I attribute to the exceptional skill of the surgeon and to the excellence of the physiotherapy and treatment at the Centre Helio-Marin in Banyuls-sur-Mer.

Dr Mouttet uses CAD taken from the scan to plan the op in detail with great accuracy. I have a scar of only 12 cm (4.75 inches). His fees are above the convention rate, so you should be prepared to pay the extra or have a good mutuelle top-up assurance.

I cannot recommend him sufficiently highly.
