Catalonian tradition - so scarey!

Post by Helen »

I remember, about five years ago, watching this in Ceret. When those little ones scurried to the top, I just couldn't look! Couldn't bear the thought of what might happen if they fell

At least in this filmed report the wee ones have got head-protection - but nope, still can't watch without feeling somewhat sick!

Certainly not one for you at the moment Marguerite!

Thanks for that Helen; sadly, it says the film isn't working at the moment and to try later.

I will - I love to see them!

In reality I think you'll find that if they should fall, they can't really go anywhere - and there are heaven knows how many people around who will catch them anyway!! :D :D :D :D

I'm amazed they put them in helmets nowadays - health and safety gone mad perhaps?????

Hi all :)

This is what tradition is all about & people are proud of it :D
Unfortunately something similar would not happen in the UK & would have joined all the other banished events

Cheers Sav :)

Took this in October 2008 in Gerona ............ it was in a small square and the tower was so high that I couldn't get it all onto one shot.

ha ha! Quite true!

However, it's obviously starting if the kids are now wearing helmets - I've never seen that before!! :?
