La Fête de la Bastille where is good to see Fireworks?

Post by LadyBass »

"Fête Nationale. La Fête de la Bastille or Fête Nationale marks the storming of the Bastille prison in 1789 and the beginning of the French Revolution of 1789. Fireworks, dancing, and a lot of celebrating mark the event every year throughout France." copied this from PO Life main site....

Where would be a good place to go and see the fireworks tonight?

Thanks Guys
It's not a rehearsal....

Or Port Vendres. Not sure if it's at ten or ten thirty.

We had a lovely evening, MINUS the fireworks. They were at St Cyp village, and we were in the moorings quite a way away! We had all the sound effects, but not the visuals! Ah well, there's always next year

A lot of villages had their fireworks the evening before the 14th. The display at Villelongue dels Monts was incredible as seen from my balcony. It must have cost a fortune as it went on for more than 10mins. There were also several diaplays in Perpignan and surrounding areas that same evening.

Expect most of the workers are fairing a pont today!

We went to St Cyrien and spent a lovely evening cherching les feu d'artifice, anyhow we heard some great live music and got ribbed mercilessly from our friend who came with us who swore we had made it all up in order to get him to drive !

great night and will go on Bastille Eve next year ;-)

 it's a pity there isn't a 'grovel' emoticon.

If it's any consolation, our friends were embarrassed too, but we forgive them! We had a lovely evening, and it sounded good!

Anybody know what happened to the Port Vendres fireworks last night? Loads of people legged it into town passed a big sign advertising it but not even a damp squib went off!!

I posted on weather following a comment by Sav: the fireworks were cancelled in Prades last night because of safety concerns due to the wind; it looks like the same thing may have happened along the coast.
