Emergency medical help

Post by Lorraine Dallas »

When on holiday in England my husband fell downstairs in the middle of the night and had severe bleeding from a head wound. Obviously we dialled 999 but I now realise I wouldn't have known what to do if it had happened in our house in Ceret. We have very elderly neighbours whom I would be loathe to disturb (and they don't speak English anyway) and my French is poor. Advice please in case we should ever have another emergency. Many thanks Lorraine

Dial 112 it's the European emergency number. I believe English is spoken (although I've never had to put this to the test, thank goodness)

Thanks, hope I don't have to put it to the test either. One major trauma was more than enough.
