AVF

This has been mentioned in the welcome forum, but I thought it may be worth a mention here?

The AVF is an national organisation here that was orininally conceved to help French people who moved to a different part of France to settle in to their new locality. It's been going for over 40 years now and deleloped into an orginasition that helps all commers settle in and meet the locals. They expanded so as to teach languages, not just French but English as well. They do all sorts of other activities. Ours here in Carcassonne does water colours, painting on porcelane, rambling, scrabble and all sorts.

Their web site is http://www.avf.asso.fr/Website/site/eng ... lcome1.php and it is in English as well as several other languages.

In our French class there are English, Germans, Peruvian, Estonian and several others so it makes for a very interesting class. There are classes for all levels.

All of the teachers and other workers are volounteers and it only costs something like 30€/year to join and take part in as many things as you wish.

There, advert for AVF over. I'm just a very satisfied very mature student, not that mentally mature either? So go and have a gander :D :D
John.
Now that I know what it's all for, it's either worn out or fallen off!
