Just wondered if anyone has seen or heard from Roger recently?
In seven years, he has rarely gone so long without posting an interesting snippet (even if it was sometimes a bit 'Swiss-bound) and I am getting worried.
If you read this Rog, please let us know you're OK.

I've been wondering too. I looked in a few other forums (fora) but I didn't get any posts from him.

Didn't he mention that he might go back to the UK, in the area he had been born? Could be???

Now you mention it, I haven't seen him over my way since February.

Not seen him elsewhere, either ?

I sent him a pm around that time and it's been received but he hasn't replied to it, which is most unlike him. :?

We're all missing Roger. He was always willing to put some good aspect about all of the posts. I'm certain that his family knows how well he was liked by the people on the internet.

Well Roger, Rest In Peace!

I've been worried about Roger since I discovered he'd be diagnosed with an aggressive cancer and am so very sorry to hear he's died. As Dave says he was extremely kind and, in our own personal experience, really supportive when we found cancer in our lives a year ago. My heart goes out to his family; he will be missed. I hope they realise how much we all cared about him.

I can confirm that he passed away on the 10th.

Annaick emailed me to say that he had died after I'd mailed him to say I'd seen his id lurking at TLP. She was obviously using his id.

The forum will be a poorer place without Roger. He was the first person ever to post over 7 years ago,and has helped so many people since then, with both good advice and actual physical acts, picking complete strangers up at airports, making phone calls.....
Kind, caring he really would do anything for anyone.
So sorry not to have taken the time to say how fond I was of you Roger.

where is Roger

So sorry to hear the sad news. I too had never met him but we had "spoken" on the Forum many times and we both hailed from Devon. He will be missed. Lets hope there is a Forum in the afterlife so he can continue to give the benefit of his vast knowledge. RIP Roger.

I / we had had a few crossed words with Roger in the past, but him being a true gentleman did not bear grudges. He helped me many times with info on various matters.

Love to his family. Image

I can only echo what everyone else has said.
Really sad news.
There aren't many true gentlemen left these days.

Just to add my own condolences to Roger's family. I met him just once, we spoke a few times on the phone, but he was absolutely caring and, as all have said, a true gentleman.

So sad.

I got back from NZ only today, so this is the first time I have heard this very sad news. Yes, Roger was so kind to me and I will really miss him.
If anyone has the family address, I would like to send my condolences. A true, old-world gentleman.

I'm currently in England ,so haven't logged in for several days,so only just now aware of this very unwelcome news. I spoke to him just after he was diagnosed, and I think he was aware of the severity of the cancer he had,so this has not altogether come as a surprise to me.

However ,I'll certainly miss his unique style of posting, and especially his dry wit. POLife/AD has lost a valuable member, and, like everyone else,my thoughts go out to his family at this sad time.

As so many have said, a real gentleman and so helpful.

He was obviously besotted with his family and so proud of them-and not afraid to show it which was so refreshing.

I hope that the comments here show his family just how much he meant to so many-and often people who had never actually met him in person but whom he helped, nevertheless. and that this is some small comfort at this sad and difficult time.

God bless.
