minimum envelope size for La Poste

Post by sue and paul »

I think this is 140mm x 90mm. Can anyone please confirm?

I've certainly had letters refused by La Poste which don't measure up (tiny Christmas cards).

Have searched La Poste site, but to no avail

Thanks. Yes, but then, to the happy recipient, it looks as though I cocked up the first envelope. I have even pasted extra bits of paper onto tiny envelopes before, but I want this to look right.

No,I'm quite serious about this Sue. I think you misunderstand my first posting:

Put the card in its proper sized envelope, then put that into another larger envelope, and address/post it.

Voila!!!! looks nice,is within the Poste rules, and no need for pasting bits of paper etc....

Certainly what we've done in similar circumstances, and it's worked well for us.

I remember ,during the recession of the 1980's receiving a Christmas card, with dimensions substantially less than the one Sue is referring to. In it was contained the charming little ditty:

"Money's Short. Times are Hard,
So here's your F*cking Christmas Card"

Is it red too?? Never seen one in France!

Me too, but I have the advantage that, as a trainee laboratory technician with Wellcome Foundation and later ICI, that they use(d) the metric system for all scientific work.. so I got used to it at 18 already!
