Nativity

Post by opas »

I am having my daily fix of daytime TV....loose women( other half watches daily politics  )

Today they are quite tame and discussing Nativity plays and whose child/grandchild is playing a sheep/a star or narrating and whose child had ever had the leading role of Mary or Joseph.
That took me back about 10 years, our youngest was in reception year in UK and was picked to play Mary. We were thrilled to bits, made the white sheet robe, and made sure she practised the few words she needed to say.
About 3 days before the big day I was phoned out of work to go to A and E as she had fallen in the playground.
She had bumped her head, but after being examined was sent home with the sheet about concussion.

On the morning of the play the bruising had come out...result, one Mary with 2 black/blue green eyes and a swollen nose! She looked like a battered wife
