Its not only restaurants its supermarkets too. When Carrefour was in Argeles its prices were higher than Carrefour Market at Laroque. Also in "the season" you can only buy large family/friends packs of meat, far too big for 2 and at considerably more per kg than in winter! Before anyone says freeze it there is sonly so much a standard freezer will hold.

Sadly, when you read the stats, the only businesses who say they have maintained business equal to 2011 are the supermarkets.

went to st cyprien today, the beach was packed even during the dinner hour , the restaurants were empty!! Supermarkets will never lose out as people can cut out meals in restaurants but they still have to eat.

Yes, and most of that food is not locally produced.
