Help!

My computer appears to have croaked its last. Am in big panic, having just become a webmaster without a web! Heading off tomorrow to buy new computer but where? Need somewhere where they can tranfer all my info, aps, progs etc as I am not clever enough to do it myself and daren't risk my non computer expert husband 'having a go'. Any advice please?

What has gone wrong with it?

If the hard disk is still OK you could just transfer it into the new machine. If the disk is dead you may be in trouble. Have you backed up recently?

Sorry, don't know anyone near you but any independent computer shop should be able to do it.

Computer won't boot up and Windows wont launch but power is on. Havent backed up recently despite everyone telling le to. What an arse am I! Feeling beshept!

Theres an 'independant' in the St Genis high street Kate! Always found him very helpful!

If the power is still on it's likely that the hard drive hasn't been wrecked as can happen when the power supply dies. Fingers crossed.

Not any more unfortunately Thumbs, Jean Michel closed it down around 2 years ago he does printing now.
He might still take a look at it though.. ?
Otherwise you could try Tech Informatique opposite Le Poste in Boulou Kate.
I'm sure he could sort it.

Had Olivier round of O Val Services - very good and very competent and reasonably priced. He managed to get me all my docs back (tho all email contacts, calender, and data bases are lost and gone for ever sob)
He also speaks English and I would definitely recommend him as I am not an easy case to help!

Olivier has read your comment and is glad you liked his work !! He told me that he could still get your email contacts, calender, and data bases back but unfortunately it won't work with Apple, nowadays nothing can be lost for ever!!!!
