PAYG mobile 'phone sim recommendation ?

Anyone have a recommendation for a current good offer on a PAYG mobile please ? ( Just the simcard, not the handset ).
I.e., not one which you have to cancel, but one which just works so long as you keep it topped up ?

There are four operators. Orange, Free, Bouygtel, and SFR. They all have websites. There are endless secondary retailers who buy wholesale and sell retail, they also have websites. There are endless (I imagine) comparison websites: here is one

I guess that most of us are signed up with permanent providers. Even those who aren’t are unlikely to be uptodate or to have researched the whole market. For all the difference it’s likely to make, you could just go down to your maison de la presse/tabac.
