sfr VOD tv

Post by opas »

I am not at all techie as anyone who knows me will be aware, so this week when our SFR facture arrived I was taken back when it was double the abonement. At first Ithought it was calls to UK as I had had to keep contacting a client about a recurrent problem at their property, but realised most of those calls were done from my mobile with Bouyges.

On inspection I had in fact just 9€ of calls to UK....

40 € was under a heading of VOD TV, we don't even have french TV , we use filmon for any TV we watch or catch-up ,YouTube, free film sites etc. Our TV Ariel does not even work.
On contacting SFR they tell me it is for 11 films downloaded and not even watched, they say it is via our box and not SFR public, on questioning which device is tablet phone, main pc she either wouldn't or couldn't tell me.
I have to pay the bill and then dispute the sum for the films. These were done over 3 days , hubby was in UK, I was in bed( middle of the night) or working, both girls are pc savy and know exactly where to watch a film for free.

Has this happened to anyone else? My youngest has just done an internet search where one poster was billed 600€ for films ,some of it porn.

Something terrible is going on at SFR. About a month ago they gave my telephone number to somebody else, it took forever for them to acknowledge it and they never did anything about it. Then they just stopped my internet access and just weren't able to reconnect it no matter how many times I phoned them and went through the whole thing. It didn't take long for me to sack them and let Orange put it all right. I wouldn't touch SFR with a hairy stick.

SFR have great reception and their packages are good. Also their help-line has proved to be competent and good too.

However, their setup and inscription services are really pretty poor. It takes ages to get a new mobile number with them and involves loads of id numbers, passwords, verifications and faffing about on their website.

The other annoying thing is the constant trying to sell you more SFR services as apps on your smartphone that reinstall when deleted. So it doesn't surprise me that there could be a problem with billing for VOD.

On the other hand, it could be that someone has got your SFR username and password and is downloading the films to their PC or tablet so first thing would be to change all your passwords on www.sfr.fr

Was that to mobiles? Our SFR abbonement gives us unlimited free calls to fixed lines in the UK and most countries worldwide.

Not had problems with VOD being billed. I guess it's possible that someone has the IP address of your Neufbox and is somehow pretending to be using that. It might be worth powering the box off then on again. That will change its IP address. Otherwise someone parking outside your house and hacking into your box. Unlikely where you live I would think.

SFR tell us they have now blocked that service as I don't want it. As a precaution we. Have also changed password.
I am composing letter to go recomande...don't hold out much hope though. If I can get the number of the device downloaded to we can illuminate human error at our end.

Yes the calls were to a mobile in UK that was cheap compared to the 25€bill i racked up on my mobile to theirs , I got a roasting off my girls though! " if we had ever done that.......blah blah, blah."
If I use a device I expect to pay, but not for shreck or Harry Potter which is on UKtTV just about every Sunday!

It appears we are getting a refund on our next bill, no reason from SFR .I sent a recommended letter some weeks ago asking for the devise/ pubic WiFi or our house WiFi. No answers from them but perhaps a letter will follow.
