addon to Firefox for iplayer etc.

Post by montgolfiere »

there is an addon to Firefox (also available for Chrome) called Media Hint which will allow access to iplayer etc.. similar to a VPN....

Thanks to 'Graham' for alerting me to this.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... edia-hint/

have just tested it and it was allowing me to watch Wimbledon Live.... it may work for ITV Player as long as you dont allow your browser to share your location... i will be doing more research as and when, for 4OD etc...
Thanks again Graham....

Thanks for that link Dave.

I've just tried it on Firefox on a Linux machine and it seems to work fine.

Now, has anyone managed to find a solution to the lack of Flash Player for Android so that this could be used on IPTV boxes?

Russell.

Brilliant. Works perfectly on a MacBook Air with Firefox!
Thank you David.

Hola to BBC iPlayer

Another free service is available through Hola.
Hola does not introduce adverts

This works on Windows, Mac, Firefox and Chrome.

They also have an Android version which I have not yet tried but it looks like it might work on a G-Box.

www.hola.org

iPlayer is not on there as a default site, so after installing it you need to run a script:-
http://hola.org/unblocker?hscript=17684 ... &sites=bbc

There are lots of other installable scripts - you just need to search for them.

Their Facebbok site has lots of info https://www.facebook.com/HolaUnblockerS ... ref=stream
