Some good ideas there,Jon,but,I'm afraid it's actually a lot easier to do their suggested month experiment in countries like UK and USA than it is here.

Wines from all sorts of weird and wonderful places are widely available in UK at places ranging from the CO-OP to Majestic and specialist merchants. But not so easy to do here. You might get the odd S American wine,plus some from Tunisia etc,but even Italian vintages are poorly represented in supermarkets and shops. The same applies in Spain.

I guess,in France and Spain,a fair compromise would be to drink only wines from a specific region of that country ( Burgundy,Cotes Du Rhone,Alsace for example) though I'd suspect that the growers of Roussillon might take a dim view if that habit caught on big-style !
