Who is reading the reviews?

I received a msg this am from the land down under from a POL reader who is planning a visit later in the year.

Anyone else in a distant land reading my amateur jottings? Any comments positive or negative? While we live in the age of the internet any additional information I should include in the "your visit" details?

I don't organise tours, conduct open tasting sessions or give talks however if I'm available I'm more than happy to join people for a very small glass of dry white wine or a cup of coffee somewhere in Perpignan. Pvt msg me or POL.

We have a steady stream of visitors from across the pond and the antipodes. It may just be the kind of people we know but wine tasting is not high on their lists of priorities. In recent times we’ve organised a cycle ride along the Canal du Midi, scuba diving, windsurfing. Visits to various Roman antiquities, the Airbus factory tour at Toulouse and viewing prehistoric cave paintings. Australian visitors, in particular, enjoy the mountains.

Plus a spot of retail therapy.

In fact I can only ever remember two visitors who wanted to visit a winery. I don’t recall they were particularly impressed.

Thanks good points. Your comments regarding the wines is precisely where my project started. People and that includes me don't necessarily come here for the wine however when they are here they want to to support the local producers. However given the region's reputation for less than ideal wine I was unsure which wines were worth the price. There did not seem to be a reliable cogent source of advice so I thought it would be fun to make my own assessments and share them on line to those one or two people who may share my interest.
