Thuir Post Office

I've already posted views about the Thuir post office advising me when asking for a postage stamp (To Scotland) that you're no longer in Europe is anyone else hearing these sentiments 
Are you sure they are not just winding you up Rainbow, i send letters to Norway and Serbia without any problem and they are not in the EU.
EDIT: when i ask for a stamp for these countries i just say its for Europe.
