Gravel / Garden stones needed...

Post by LadyBass »

Hello I am after yet more advice if anyone can help.

We have decided to take the great advice from you kind peeps on this forum and put gravel / small stones down in place of out pathetic baldy lawn.

However we scoured St Hypolyte and went to our local quarry with no joy and now don't know where to get it.

Is there a quarry in North perps area, we are near Estagel but dont mind driving a reasonable way. Does anyone know where to get it... or where would you go to find it?

Thanks all....

Leroy Merlin and most garden centres.

Incidentally, we went to Foire Expo in Perpignan last week and the most widely shown product was artificial grass which seems to have now reached the same level of realism as artificial flowers.

There must have been a dozen stands selling it.

was hoping for a quarry or similar, GC and LM are pretty expensive and artificial grass is monumentally expensive.. and a bit weird !

Thanks for your help tho

Leroys and garden centres are much to expensive. We got ours by the ton from Belmas. There are another two such places on the St Genis - St Jean Lasseille road. None of these are of any use I know to Ladybass because of the distance.

I think your nearest could be at Baixas. Carriere de la Madeleine. Could be worth a look.

There are often adverts in the Indep for the gravel and products in the classified advertisments. The places give prices and whether they deliver, etc.. Check the newspapers during the whole week's classified sections.

FACEBOOK THOUGHTS: Remember that old phrase: if you're not paying for it, you're not the customer; you're the product being sold.

Caminal, on the road between Le Soler and Perpignan. They stock all sorts of colours and grades for various purposes. They will deliver, we recently had 10 tons delivered for a hard standing for the Camping Car, or you can collect small quantities in a trailer.

There's a quarry on the outskirts of Thuir if that's any good - easy to find, just follow the lorries. Prices very reasonable compared to the builders' merchants round here.

there is a sand and gravel yard on the side of the n9 just past polygone on the left along side all the swimming pool suppliers.
there is also point p at riversaltes they should be able to deliver gravel in 1ton bags and leroy merlin at claira have gravel in 1 ton bags they also rent a tipper truck by the hour which may help.
