Indian Restaurants

Are there any Indian restaurants within an hour's drive of Argeles? Ditto, Mexican food...Wishful thinking, I imagine. Thanks.

There's a Texmex / mexican resto at the bowling alley / Carrefour complex on the Route de Canet at Perpignan.

There's an Indian resto in Perpi, too.

There used to be one open all year round at Canet-Plage called
Rajah mahal
The following details are from an old card
23 Bld Tixador
Canet-Plage
Tel 04 68 80 53 30
It was run by the same group that run the one in Perpignan , so they do speak English!!!!!!!!

We've had this kind of question loads of times. I don't think there are any good Indian, Mexican or other such ethnic restaurants in the PO. Better to download some recipies and have a good night in.

All ingredients can be bought from The Asia Store at Mas Guerido.

Mr. Polremy is a dab hand at proper curries.
Round our parts they call him Raj.
Anyone who is willing to help us look for a good C1 car or similar on our return is more than welcome to come and test him out for themselves.

No need to thank me.

now, that is a distinct possibility.
mr. polremy wanted to get another 2cv but that would be even better.
right size to fit in the garage during the winter too.

if this new idea materialises, we would of course insist on thanking you for the information.
don't you like curries then?

Maybe, Santiago, but Ramona has only posted on here 9 times and only been a member for a couple of weeks, so it's a fair question.

I've just looked in the restaurant guide on the forum and find no mention of either Indian or Mexican restaurants!

Are you mentioning the "Mexotic" store on the old route du Prade. This is just bit down from the EDF/GDF building.

This place does not have the same variety and freshness of the products as which is shown at the Asia Center.

If there's another place, let us know.

My appologies Ramona. It was not meant as a criticism.

There were lots of threads on Indian restaurants including several on the Punjab but they have disappeared. In summary people thought it was OK but not as good as what one would find in the UK and perhaps a bit overpriced. The service was recommended.

So Serge, what are your top three cuisines?

I've seen this place but I really was wanting to know if the food is good. Is it real Thai food or just Asia food.

This restaurant is right across from the Mobilephone (sp) which will do a bender-gender on your mobile telephon. If you have one which is "locked" to Orange or SFR, etc., they can do the real deal. I have paid about 20€ each time I'm changed the phones. Good shop.

Hav'nt tried the resto.
I just use the shop & I always judge a place by its turnover. Whenever I go on a Sunday morning it is usually heaving with our Asian cousins. To me that says it must be good or they would"nt use it.
Thats my outlook on it anyway for what it's worth.

Puddles, Is that the road perpendicular to the Bld Felix Mercader?
Thanks. I'll give it a try.
Asia Centre has a comprehensive (& costly) stock of foodstuffs but...from past experience I'd suggest checking the sell-by dates.

Thats a big word for my little duck brain.
But yes , I think!
Whilst I always check sell by dates wherever I shop , I have never had any real trouble there. Also on certain mornings there is a produce market on the street outside , & that I have found is a little cheaper than some of the others.
