Lunched here in a sad, almost deserted shopping centre called Le Canigou. All the more surprising to find that it was excellent and very good value for money. There were fourteen of us for the fixed lunch which started off with a tourte aux légumes followed by cuisse de canard with mashed potatoes made with very good olive oil and a few decorative and very fresh vegetables. Dessert was a brick with fresh fruit salad on top and cream over all. A quart de vin was included in the eighteen euro price. The chef was a disciple of Marc Veyrat and it shows. Service efficient, friendly, non-snooty and helpful. Cannot recommend the place too highly.While the shopping centre was bleak and deserted, the restaurant was heaving, and rightly. Might be a good idea to reserve. I woild underline that brick is the flaky Morrocan pastry, not the building block...
