Restaurant Le Delos, Port Argelès
This has to be a record even for Argelès-sur-Mer!
This restaurant opened on Monday 15th July in the Place du Nouveau Monde next to the Boulangerie du Port.
Today, less than three weeks later, it has closed and is up for sale!
I am aware that some of the local established restauranteurs have opened a book on who will not be around next year but this must have changed the odds somewhat.
I can never understand the logic of some "entrepreneurs" who must think, "There are plenty of restaurants in the Port, so we'll open another one."
The facts are that there are too many restaurants in Port Argelès, many of them selling the same tourist fodder, oblivious to the fact that they need to offer something different to survive............tourists and locals are not spending the money they used to...........
To the owners of Le Delos, I'm sorry your venture failed. If you had only opened a shop (Tabacs/Pharmacy etc.) that locals and holidaymakers wanted, you would be reaping the benefits every day.
