mortgage checker

Post by opas »

When a car is sold in France you have to get a certificate to show that the car is free from any charge/loan and that the owner has a right to sell it.

Is there a way to check if a property has a charge/mortgage on it? Just incase for instance it has multiple ownership, without getting the notaire involved.

Try the Service des Hypotheques

There are several other sites if you google the above.. for example:

However, as usual, it's perhaps better to engage an expert (notaire?) to do
this rather than try to wade though the complications involved oneself....
