tax refund on insulation

Under section 7 on the personal déclaration revenus (charges ouvrant droit à réduction ou à crédit d’impôt), a tax refund is available for residents of France for insulation projects.

I got 40% back from the cost of the materials (including the 5.5% VAT charge) – the cost of labour isn’t included in their calculations. So, I paid 570€ for the laine de roche, the VAT at 5.5% is 31.35€ (Total 601.35€), 40% of that is 240.54 and I received a cheque for 240€ within about 4 days of getting the "avis d’impôt“ in september."
