Bad Driving Weekends

Post by jecjcr »

Help required. Could anyone please advise which are the days to avoid when planning a driving trip the length of France, from Calais to Prades (Perpignan) and of course the return way.

We once got it wrong once and joined most of Paris on the road and heading our way!

All information gratefully received.

I think I'm right,John and Jane, in saying that the first weekend of the school holidays (see below)

http://www.anglophone-direct.com/French ... idays-2011

are ones to avoid;and of course the last ones ,going northbound.

Traditionally, the first weekend in August is the most "not for the faint hearted" one on the French roads !

Pickout your route(s) and check for this on the Bison Futé.

Just pick the days, and routes can minumize your traffic blockage. Then you will have a nice drive this time.
