TGV Ouigo

Post by gleber »

Can anyone explain what TGV Ouigo is - and has anyone used it? I have seen it mentioned and after recent events am looking at travelling by train to Perpignan.

Thanks for any info.

oui oui. We booked 2 returns on ouigo for May from Montpellier to Marne la Vallée. We have friends near there. It's a no-frills service, hand luggage only + one bag, both with specific maximum dimensions. You have to present yourself on the platform 30 minutes before departure. There is a dedicated website www.ouigo.com. The tickets are various prices, but much reduced. We have paid 40€ for 2 returns, ie 10€ each per person per journey. The offers are for certain sections of the TGV network, all to be seen on their website

I travel to Lyon to visit my family. The Ouigo is cheaper than my senior card on SNCF. The train also stops at Lyon Airport, which suits me better. Perfectly fine TGV.
