If someone recently passed their driving test in uk, are there any restrictions to them driving abroad in their own vehicle ?

they can drive in France as long as they are the legal age to drive here, ie 18 and 1 day, After that it is the same rules as if they passed their test here, I would put the A on the back of the car ( although it doesn't state anywhere that this is obligatory when passing a licence abroad).
