cheap flights and travel deals

How to find cheap flights and travel deals? i search some popular sites sometimes, like expedia and travelocity, but I feel like I'm always getting a sucker price. I always hear of people getting international flights for like $500-600, when the price I always see is well over $1k. How do you find the best travel deals?

Try sites like kayak or skyscanner: they search across (almost) all airlines and intermediaries. And try a range of dates/times if you can: midweek is often cheaper.
