If I knew what bated breath was, I'd be waiting with it. (Is it something to do with 'abated" ?) But yes, it would be great if Perps airport was developed a bit

I think in bated breath the word is indeed related to abated.
Whereas in baited breath the word has more to do with excess consumption of, say, garlic.
