Day trip to the snow... Where?

Post by DanielK »

Hi everyone

Need your help pls
Can you pls recommend a place to go up the mountains to the snow.
Les Angles? Font Romeu? Pyrenees2000 I heard is good.
Never been to the snow.
Taking husband and two children under 5yo for the day.
Just to have fun in the snow. No skiing!
Do these places get busy during the wkend or is it best to go during the wk?
Can you pls also recommend cheap places to eat also.

Thank you in advance

xx

Try st Pierre del forcats; first station you get to up there. It's a very small ski station and it has an area for sledging. Only one restaurant (self service very cheap canteen style) and it's not overly crowded.
If you want somethings busier any of the others you mentioned will do you fine :)

I go to Pyrenees2000, there is a sledging area (free) and lots of shops and parking, just before you turn right to enter the village there is a parking area with lots of walking including GR10, I have spent hours walking in the area.
