Can anyone advise if there is a birdwatching and/or wildlife group in the P O? We are based near Prades.
Thanks
Sally

Google LPO ( League Protection Oiseaux) for your local contact.

Don't know about bird-watching groups but there is a magnificent white Stork colony just over the border in Spain at Peralada.

Just 1 solitary one flew over ours in Argeles on Saturday. The first one I have seen in nearly 10 years of living here.

Thanks everyone. We have been to the Aiguamolls reserve in Spain which is extremely good and to be recommended! It is near L'Emporda to the west of Figures.

Good to hear from some other birders in the area!

We love Peyriac too. And Aiguamolls, of course - we were there just yesterday and for the first time in my life I was able to photograph nightingales right out in the open, sitting on fences, and one even sat on the ground! Never seen that before. Glossy ibis were there too, plus purple heron, great reed warbler and all the usual suspects! Fantastic place.

Can't help with groups though - I'm not a 'groupie' sort of person - sorry!

The lagoon at St.Nazaire boasts some flamingo colonies. HF

We have nightingales in the village, which is lovely.

Thank you all for your suggestions
