Online tv: roku, now tv, chromecast.....

I am currently having my house ripped apart and re-assembled, so have the luxury of waiting a few months before settling on how to distribute uk tv, music, Netflix etc around the house. But I would like to get it settled in time to build in any necessary wiring, switches etc. In particular, there se...

That's a shame. I have always been able, when travelling alone, to be last on the plane and still sit in the first couple of rows, thanks to the optimistic couples who thought they would bag a row of three to themselves. No doubt there will still be fuss from couples who cannot bear to be parted, bu...

The timing of this by Manuel Valls is irrelevant -I think not! Any more than the revelations about DSK were. Maybe even the recent stuff about FH's vie privee. All this is timed to cause the maximum damage, create opportunities and further the aims of the instigators. Just like in "Yes Minister" Ma...

If the state keeps on trying to ban him, he will keep on getting TV coverage and attract even more support (and cash) through social media. Maybe we should try just ignoring the guy: it could hardly succeed any worse.

The materials can hardly have cost anything much, and his own time (it surely was a "he", even without looking) cost him nothing at all. So how did this silly toy "cost" $100,000, or $10, or a dime? Though I'm sure the video is fascinating, even beyond the borders of 66.

If you have an iOS device (iphone etc), you can use the filmon and other apps on that, and push it to your tv (via the "freebox player" box) using Airplay.

It doesn't work like that. Your mutuelle makes up what the Sécu doesn't cover, up to a maximum of 125% of the conventionné rate. Hearing aids are reimbursed at 60% of the conventionné rate by the Sécu and (in your case) at 65% of the coventionné rate (125 minus 60) by your mutuelle. Hospital costs g...

It does seem logical, and no I cannot see how changing provider could abolish the problem: they will always want to check that people using their service have paid to do so. It is not an issue for me, but my own provider has useful advice on how to automate IP address updates or at least make them e...

Can you get software to sign up new identities and post junk like this without human intervention, or does the poor sap do it all by hand? If the latter, I almost wish he'd continue: the waste of my time seems a small price to pay for the rather larger waste of his. If the former, can it not be bloc...

If the problem is down to poor hearing rather than dis-satisfaction with the tv's "audio quality", perhaps the solution lies elsewhere -eg with wireless headphones. Sennheiser, among others, have units which might do the trick for not much over €100.

Pâté de coings is quince paste. The product at the end of the link is quince jelly. Or try any supermarket in Spain (or the appropriate market stall) for dulce de membrillo, or codonyat in Catalan.

I quite often cook bacalao. Soaking overnight would rarely be enough: at least 24 hours for the sort which is only semi-dried, and more like 48 or more for the stuff which is as dry as a board. Four or five changes of water. Or go to Spain and buy it ready-soaked. And taste it before adding any salt...
