You don't mention your location, but I would also be concerned about the level the river might reach, or might already have reached, in times of heavy and prolonged rain. I know property owners who have lost considerable chunks of gardens due to high and fast water flow

Thanks for replies and research, which, admittedly, I could have done myself. I just saw something on this morning's UK news which made me wonder if things had changed. emergency healthcare cost UK

As UK retirees here in France our healthcare, via Carte Vitale, is ultimately paid by UK, according to mutual agreement between all EU countries. Does anyone have experience (or knowledge, or both) of how it rolls for us with NHS back in the UK, if a health emergency should arise? Do we have to pay ...

Emmäus.....unwanted furniture

http://www.anglophone-direct.com/Emmaus We've used the services of Emmäus several times to dispose of unwanted items of furniture, which they then sell to support their community in Pollestres. They collect when they say they will, send enough manpower to handle the goods (eg 3 men to take away a so...

I wouldn't normally comment on mis-translations on the website (bad etiquette) but I think it might mean 'city of verse' (le ver = worm; le vers = verse). Either way, it looks to be a very interesting ...
