Sorry , meant to mention French Terrestrial TV . Not the normal UK stuff ! I assume that the standard TNT box does not contain a digital converter or does it , if it has a scart outlet . TV has scart & RGB inputs...Paul....

Probably the best you can do is to find a house, or several, that you are interested in, and the agents will tell you what the foncière and habitation taxes are. Even so, I think the habitation can vary depending on your assessment for income tax, and your age. There are too many variables to pluck ...

Thanks for replies. Our visitor is booked to fly home to UK with her family on 17th, from Girona. However it now looks as though she'll have to go to Geneva for work on 18th. Hence my question. She travels a lot, and it's a good thing she has lots of energy! PS...She has just told me she will probab...

going to Geneva

I've been asked by a lady family member for the best way to travel alone from Argeles to Geneva. I don't think cost is the number 1 priority, as it will be on business. I have suggested a few ideas... train all the way, with 2 changes; train to Toulouse and fly Easyjet; fly back to Stansted from Per...

I read on the DVLA site that the old paper-only licence which has a record of penalty points will still be valid. This is what I still have (excluding penalty points of course). So presumably I can hire a car as always. However, one day I will want to exchange my UK licence for a French one, and for...

Our postal voting papers arrived last Monday 20th, and we posted straight back. Very impressive service both by local electoral staff in Derbyshire Dales, and PO + La Poste. Last General Election the papers arrived at the last minute, and I was never sure if they got back in time

Thanks Pearsonb. We're not very accustomed to train travel, and as we don't want any hiccups, we'll be getting the direct train from Argelès to Montpellier at 09.58.
