Hi Jenny, just in case you don't get a response - there's always Flixbus.

There are 5 buses a day which stop at Girona Airport and then Perpignan. The fare is around £14

There appears to be one at 14.15 which might suit you

All the best for new job in Perpignan

Interestingly the French version of information about parking says:

Les abonnements et forfaits sont à souscrire le jour d'entrée au parking.

My reading of that is that if you want to take advantage of long term parking options you have to do it on the day you plan to leave the car there.

Our last view was of her heading away with all her sails unfurled and lit by the setting sun. She had a faintly ghostly quality, like a painting by Turner.

What a lovely evocative description. Thank you.

Castelnou

I was intrigued by the recent article on Castelnou and a British spy buried there https://anglophone-direct.com/spies-and-spirits-in-castelnou/ Keen to know about this woman, where else to go but Wikipedia - where she has quite an entry. What a life she had! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amy_Elizabe...

The renfe.com site gives you the Girona/Perpignan option too.

Weekdays appear to have 5 trains a day and the last two departures from Girona are 17.26 and 19.11.

Journey time is around 40 minutes.

So has anyone on here travelled from Gerona Airport to Argelès ( or nearby ) using bus ( or ? taxi ) to Gerona train station , and then train along the coast ? How difficult is it ? Any pointers ? I did it once 10 years ago - it was fine. Just not fast! Out of curiosity I just checked the timetabl...

Having worked in digital media for a few years, the buzz words were always 'long tail' - i.e. google search drives traffic. The more content out there, the better for traffic. Deleting threads is anathema to me, unless there are legal or other reasons to remove. Each thread is clearly dated, so hope...

Re: BBC iPlayer not working

The reason I raised the possibility of an issue with the smart tv app was :
SteveB wrote: It doesn’t come up with a message blocking content as it did before, but just behaves as if there’s a poor WiFi connection (in fact my connection is pretty good) - the on-screen information on programmes lacks pictures, and when I try to stream programmes I get a message “this content doesn’t appear to be workingâ€￾.
?

I'm not a tech by any means, but there are known to be issues with upgrades to tv players and smart tv apps -and older TVs will no longer support the newer versions

The iplayer help section states:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/help/late ... ng-closure

But then again Steve may not have been using the inbuilt app, in which case the above is irrelevant.

Steve, are you trying to access the iplayer via the app on your smart tv?

If so, it may be the problem is the app/your TV, not your VPN.

For example, there seems to be an issue for some Samsung sets:

Effectively poor visibility!

But that doesn't explain why you saw the Porto flight land whilst the Stansted one diverted.

I'm pretty clueless about wine but have been keen to learn more about what's produced locally, so tend to pop into the caves in either Amelie or Ceret to ask for recommendations. rogb, there are flights from Edinburgh to Carcassonne starting October 31st, operating twice a week, right through the winter.

Can't say I'm keen on a 06.25 take-off time - but it's great that there will be a direct flight from Scotland to the Languedoc this winter.
