You say there are a lot of fonspots in Argel`es but I don't see any at all on that map.

Clicking on the link gives you a map of the world, then when you narrow it down to Argel`es there is a map of the area but no fonspots at all that I can detect.

You say ' The minimum contract that does give you access is E10 per month' But is this a contract with NEUF or with SFR ? And does it require a fixed line connection or can it be done thru a 3G dongle? If one were within range of a hotspot would it appear automatically on the screen or does one have...

Would the 'FON' hotspots appear automatically on my computer ?

If so I don't have any.

Am currently with Plusnet in Uk but wd be willing to change to BT if it would get me a reciprocal hotspot here in Argel`es; however, as i say, no 'FON' connection appears on the screen.

can you explain ?

I am intrigued by what you write but don't understand it : Are you saying that you can have a full internet connection via some sort of mobile 'phone type link with no reference at all to a fixed line 'phone ? And that it costs only 10 E a month ?? If so is it restricted in terms of hours per month ...

Assuming the consensus is correct that this is some sort of 'Hotspot' available ONLY to 'Free' subscribers: 1] why does the screen / succession of screens at no point require or suggest a code or whatever to gain access? I would have thought that logically the screen/s should explain to people wishi...

'FREE PUBLIC WIFI' - What does it mean ?

I do not currently have either 'phone or internet connection. However, when I switch on the computer I get a message 'FREE PUBLIC WIFI - Available - waiting for Users'. Yet another message states that the signal is very strong. Then there is a box to click labelled 'Connect'. It appears to connect -...

PREPAY MOBILE 'PHONE RATES - Comparison?

This is just in case it may be of interest to anyone considering getting a prepay 'phone for summer ( or longer of course ). Perhaps others could contribute info on the rates they pay on different systems. I bought a Carrefour simcard - cost 9Euros something ( incl 4E credit ). I was slightly surpri...

temporary internet access without a fixed 'phone line

If you are making progress on the issue please keep us informed - I suspect a lot of people have the same problem. I would also like to know more about which internet providers in the UK have reciprocal arrangements with ISPs in France - I have never seen reference to this anywhere. Do any dongle pr...

Yes- and they would be able to slow down gradually if they would only keep a truly safe distance from the car in front - but that isn't going to happen in my lifetime.

Could a lime or lemon tree be espaliered along the fence ? True, does not answer the winter leaves point but you can't have everything - and it would be pleasantly decadent for 8 or 9 months of the year, once established. Grape vine ? Much quicker to cover the area, albeit not as 'exotic' as lime et...
